The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 came into force on 1st October 2006; these regulations are designed to consolidate the existing fire safety legislation.

This Information highlights the main areas of change. The Question you may need to ask yourself is:

  • What Premises have been affected by the new regulations?
  • What has changed?
  • Enforcement?

So if you are the:

  • responsible person for your business premises
  • an employer with 5 or more staff
  • self-employed with business premises
  • charity or voluntary organisation
  • contractor with a degree of control over any premises
  • a business tenant within a building
  • a landlord of a business building
